About this plugin
VM Bumper is a professional effect that fills every slice of your Resolume Advanced Output mapping with the layer's incoming video in eight distinct fill modes and six time-based sequences. Drop it on any clip with content, point it at an AO preset, and each slice becomes its own animated video window — perfect for bumpers, transitions, mapped scenic playback, synchronized graphics and live-feed grids. 8 Fill Modes — how the input texture fills each slice: Stretch (fit to slice bounding box) · Fit (preserve aspect, letterbox) · Cover (fill by cropping overflow) · Tile (repeat inside slice) · UV Direct (screen-space pass-through) · Mirror (alternate-slice horizontal flip) · Scaled Center (centered with zoom) · Rotated Fit (per-slice auto-rotation). 6 Time Sequences — how slices are gated across time: All Same (every slice fully active) · Sequential Split (each slice shows a horizontal strip of the input — like a video wall) · Time Scroll (active window sweeps through slices rhythmically) · Random Shuffle (BPM-driven random subset lights up per beat) · Stagger (cascading pulse per-slice index) · Inside vs Outside (alternate odd/even slices). Fill Controls UV Scale (zoom the input), UV Offset X/Y (pan), UV Rotation (rotate the sampled content), Slice Padding (inset/feather distance from edge), Feather Edge (soft boundary at slice edge). Look Tint color + amount (colorize the fill), Border Width + Border Color (glowing edges around each slice). Background (4 modes) Black · Input Pass-Through (the layer shows through outside slices) · BG Color (solid color behind) · Transparent (alpha-masked for compositing over other layers). Use Cases Bumpers / IDs — drop a logo animation and have it appear on every mapped surface Video walls — Sequential Split turns your mapping into a tiled screen Synchronized reveals — Time Scroll + animated input sweeps content across the room BPM-reactive grids — Random Shuffle + Window Size creates strobing slice patterns Scenic VJ — Fit mode preserves content aspect across irregular mapping geometry Technical Native FFGL 2.x effect plugin. Reads Resolume Advanced Output slice data via the native ao_* helpers with AABB early-out per pixel (handles 500+ slices at 60fps). 19 parameters in 5 logical groups (Source, Fill, Sequence, Look, Background). Alpha-correct output for clean compositing in Resolume's effect chain. Compatible with Resolume Arena 7+.
